The lake decides more than the look does
The single biggest call in a Lake Macquarie shutter isn't the colour, it's how far the window sits from salt air. We'll walk it with you at the measure, but here's how we think about it.

Blade width
63, 89 or 114 millimetres of view
On an ordinary window the blade width is a style call. On a west window over the lake it decides whether the horizon sits in one clear band or gets crossed by three. Wider blades mean fewer bars in the sight line and bigger openings when tilted; a tighter 63mm blade suits small openings and rooms where privacy leads.

Configuration
How the panels move, mount and tilt
The measure covers all of this in your actual rooms, but it helps to know the words before we arrive.
- Hinged panels
The classic: panels that swing open for cleaning and full view. Right for most windows.
- Bi-fold
Panels hinged together that fold away on an overhead track. Turns a stacker door or a wall of glass into an open passage; the whole-view option for lakeside living rooms.
- Sliding / bypass
Panels that park behind one another on parallel tracks. No swinging leaf intruding on the room; suits wardrobes and wide openings with furniture close by.
- Front-tilt or hidden tilt
The visible tilt rod is the traditional look, at home on brick-suburb windows. Hidden tilt moves the mechanism into the stile for a clean line, which is what we usually recommend where the window is the view.
- Z-frame or L-frame
The frame the panels hang in. A Z-frame wraps the reveal and covers small out-of-square gaps, common in established homes; an L-frame sits flush for reveal or face mounting. We pick per window, not per house.
- Mid-rail
A horizontal rail that splits the louvres into independent top and bottom banks: privacy below, sky above. Made for street-facing rooms near the foreshore paths.

How much do plantation shutters cost in Lake Macquarie?

Not if they're specified for it. Wide blades, hidden tilt and panels that fold or slide clear mean the view is there when you want it, and the glare isn't when you don't. That trade-off is exactly what the tilt planner lets you feel before we visit.
